WA ARINTO_VINHO VERDE

The WA ARINTO VINHO VERDE is obtained from a careful selection of the best grapes available in the famous Vinho Verde region of northern Portugal. The Arinto grape was cultivated in Portugal over 2200 years ago by the Romans.
The wine show a bright greenish yellow colour, and brings citrus and pineapple notes as well as an elegant fruity aroma. It has a perspirant citrus freshness and well-balanced complex aftertaste.
FOOD PAIRING: Pairing food with WA ARINTO VINHO VERDE is simple, as it matches and elevates a wide range of dishes. Deep-fried Asian dishes are a particularly good match as the citrus acidity cuts through the rich oil-fried crust. If you are a lover of chicken with citrus flavoured sauces or marinades this is the wine for you. It is a fantastic wine with any fried or grilled seafood, and goes especially well with fish. The residual sugar in the wine matches elevates the tasting experience with dishes of spicy heat.

The grapes used for the WA ARINTO VINHO VERDE are very ripe and vinified using the most modern technology. In the process, the grapes are fully destemmed, slightly pressed and fermented with a strict temperature control.

ORIGIN: The Caves Campelo Estate is located in Barcelos 90 km north of Porto. The estate has been producing wine since 1951. It disposes over 55 acers in the Vinho Verde region, exposed to the Atlantic ocean and its influence.

WA PINOT GRIGIO

Serena Wines, founded in Venice in 1881 by Pietro Serena, has produced this top-class WA PINOT GRIGIO .
The famous Italian white varietal Pinot Grigio is a medium bodied fresh wine, best enjoyed young. Its crisp acidity and fruity flavors of apples and melon makes it a refreshing companion to most dishes. Like many white wines, it is best to drink Pinot Grigio when it's young, and preferably slightly chilled. Since it is crisp and refreshing, this wine is an ideal choice for warm weather.

FOOD PAIRING: The WA PINOT GRIGIO pairs well with light fish dishes, crab and seafood as well as chicken. It also goes well with rich sauces and slightly spicy foods where the acidity of the wine balances the richness and spice. For this reason, avoid serving it with acidic dishes, such as tomato sauce or citrus.

ORIGIN:  The Serena family has for the last 130 years been dedicated to the creation of high quality wines as well as for creating their own story through innovative projects. The vineyard area covering the Veneto, Friuli and Trentino-Alto Adige is called Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC. This tightly-controlled production zone accounts for as much as two thirds of Italy’s annual 300 million bottle Pinot Grigio output. Importantly for Pinot Grigio lovers, all the wines bearing this new classification have to be certified by an independent commission before being bottled.

WA ARINTO

The WA ARINTO is made from the finest white grape of the Estremadura district, in Bucelas near Lisbon on the coast of Portugal.  The Arinto grape was cultivated in Portugal over 2200 years ago by the Romans.
The wine shows a bright citrus color, and brings lemon/lime notes as well as an elegant fruity aroma. It has a mineral freshness and vibrant acidity .

The grapes in the WA ARINTO wine are carefully pressed at low pressure, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures. Before its bottling, the wine is filtered and cold stabilized.

ORIGIN: This phenomenal wine is produced by the enriched estate Quinta da Romeira,  owned by the Ferreira family, producing wine since the 17th century. The estate disposes over 130 acres in the sub region of Bucelas-Lisboa, 25 km north of Lisbon. The soil, dating from upper Jurassic, is composed of calcareous marl and crystalline limestone with abundant presence of fossils like trigonia, oyster and bivalve, contributing to a unique minerality. The vineyards are planted on pronounced slopes, at 250 m altitude, protected from Atlantic winds by a ridge of hills. Cool and humid winters, warm and dry summers with humid nights, all contribute to a long and perfect grape maturation.

WA ALVARINHO

The WA ALVARINHO is made from the premium white grape of the Vinho Verde district, located in the north of Portugal. The Alvarinho grape is known for its perfumed floral qualities. It was cultivated over 2000 years ago and was mentioned by the Roman philosopher Seneca in his writings.

WA ALVARINHO presents a citric colour and a complex fruit aroma. In the mouth it reveals structure and harmony with peach and sweet citrus notes. It has a vibrant acidity with a subtle minerality.

FOOD PAIRING: Sushi and Sashimi lovers are up for a food-pairing treat with Alvarinho. Also yakitori and the lighter side of the Korean kitchen are great friends with the grape. You can also enjoy it with the glass noodle salads of the south-east like Vietnamese shredded chicken salad.

ORIGIN: This exquisite wine is produced by the enriched family estate Casa de Vila Nova owned by Baron Lencastre Family since 12th century. Casa de Vila Nova disposes over 29 HA in the sub region Sousa exposed to the atlantic ocean and hence the influence of it.

WA RIESLING

The WA RIESLING is made from the finest white grapes of the Riesling Trocken district, located in Zellertal, Pfalz, Germany.
The Riesling grape gives a clear citrus colour, and brings lime/lemon notes as well as an elegant fruity aroma. It has a clear mineral freshness and a vivacious acidity. The Zellertal terroir with limestone and clay, and the cool climate at 300m above sea level gives the wine its unique profile.

FOOD PAIRING: The WA RIESLING is truly a versatile wine, pairing very well with most foods. It is considered to be one of the very best wines to drink with sushi and most of the Japanese cuisine, a natural companion with grilled fish and tempura dishes.  Its acidity pairs wonderfully with oily lighter meats like duck. It also works nicely with Thai flavours such as coconut and lemongrass. It is a classic pairing with spicy food due to its natural acidity and fruit aroma.

ORIGIN: This phenomenal wine is produced by the family estate Schwedhelm disposing over 17 acers organic wineyard in Zellertal, Pfalz, in the western part of Germany. 

WA GRÜNER VELTLINER

 The WA GRÜNER VELTLINER brings out a lot of fruity charm. Delicate chestnut and burnt almonds on the nose, straightforward style, flowery notes; slender, but persistent, beautiful contours, some white bread and orange zest.
FOOD PAIRING: Winemakers like to tell you that their wines go with everything but in the case of Grüner Veltliner, Austria’s best known white wine, it’s true.This crisp, fresh young style that typifies Grünersand is a great choice in Asian or Asian-fusion restaurants especially with the traditional Japanese food, as well as with Thai and Vietnamese food.

ORIGIN: WA Grüner Veltliner is produced by 'Domaene Gobelsburg' and they are representing the character of the Danube area Kamptal with its natural terraces and smooth hills. Here are all the essential characteristics, geology and climate zones of the landscape are united. The climate influence by the rivers Danube and Kamp as well as the cool winds from the area of Waldviertel produce fruity and spicy wines. ​
SCHLOSS GOBELSBURG, a Cistercian monastic estate, is one of the oldest wineries in the Austrian Danube area with a documented history that dates back to 1171. All the vineyards are located on slopes and terraces around the valley of the river Kamp near the town of Langenlois and the village of Gobelsburg. Schloss Gobelsburg specialises in Grüner Veltliner and Riesling and produces authentic and noble wines from different single vineyard, village and regional appellations. The winery is member of the association 'Österreichische Traditionsweingüter', which is working on a vineyard classification project for the Danube area.  ​ 
The classic wines from this region must pass the test from the regional boards tasting committee and must be fruit-driven, gentle spice, no botrytis or no oak notes.​

WA PROSECCO + PICCOLO

Serena Wines, founded in Venice in 1881 by Pietro Serena, has produced this top-class WA PROSECCO. 

The Glera grape bring a bright, straw- yellow colour with a greenish hue.  Lively mousse and intense aromas of white flowers and golden apple. The taste is intense, fresh, and elegant with a following soft delightful after-taste. Served well-chilled this is the perfect way to start an evening.

FOOD PAIRING: The WA PROSECCO is a pure delight for an aperitif, as well as with appetizers or light courses, a great combination with fish or vegetables main courses and delicate fish courses. Try it with lightly grilled seafood or Nigiri sushi. The light sparkle will refresh our palate and allow the clean flavours of the fresh fish. Prosecco also pairs well with middleweight Asian dishes such as pad thai and rice noodle dishes. The residual sugar makes it a great companion to moderately spicy heat.

Ripe grapes from the hillsides of Valdobbiadene in Northern Italy are fermented into fresh white wine. Then a secondary fermentation is done in tank for a refreshing effervescence that brings it all to life. This is called the Charmat method.

WA DUORO

The WA DOURO RESERVA 2013 is made from 3 selected grapes , Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, combined to give this superb wine. It is vibrant, with aromas of black fruit and berries and strong yet rounded tannins, which gives the taste a great complexity, and a concentrated, intense and long finish. The aromas are well balanced through an excellent integration of the wood, resulting from the 12 months of internship in French and American oak.
 
FOOD PAIRING: The WA DOURO RESERVA is great to pair with the Chinese cuisine, a generous cuisine to which bringing expressive and muscular wines is important, wines like this that are spicy, soft, and on the richer side. This wine also goes well with Japanese beef based Yaki-Niku, as well as Korean and Vietnamese barbeque dishes.

ORIGIN: The WA DOURO RESERVA is born from a meticulous selection of wines, from the noblest grape varieties of the Douro region, a demarcated in 1756 and thus the oldest demarcated wine region in the world.  Appointed world heritage site by Unesco, the Upper Douro Wine region has a beautiful landscape as well as micro-climates in various sub-regions. The vineyards are implanted upstream and downstream of the Douro River, arranged in terraces and shady grounds, thus giving conditions for the perfect marriage in the production of this wine.
